Just a quick heads up to let you know that we will no longer be offering unlimited downloads on the site.
Whilst we have advertised unlimited downloads in the past, these have always been subject to a fair use policy.
It’s a bit like your internet provider offering unlimited bandwidth which is more than enough to stream the occasional movie, download some music and so on but of course that doesn’t give you the green light to go ahead and download 10TB of data each day and you’ll soon be cut off if you did!
Unfortunately whilst the vast majority of our users appreciate this and only download what they need, when they need it, a growing number are using the site to literally download every plugin and theme within minutes of subscribing.
We’ve just had one user who did so using a 3rd party script where they’ve tried to download the entire site within 60 seconds and it’s triggered all kinds of security systems that we have in place. We’ve spent most of Sunday resolving this when we would much rather have our feet up.
So, regrettably from now on we are capping the number of daily downloads at 25 per user. We feel this should be more than enough for our customers. Should you desperately need this lifting and you can’t wait 24 hours for it to reset then please contact support and we will review it on a case by case basis.
