Description

What does Newsletter – Eventprime Integration do?

This add-on connects the Newsletter plugin to EventPrime and adds one thing to the composer: an events block. Drag it into an email, set it up in the popup that appears, and your upcoming events are pulled straight into the message. The block can be reconfigured whenever you like, so nothing is locked in after the first draft.

There is no settings screen to hunt for. Once the add-on is active, the new composer block and a new automated theme are available right away.

Key Features

  • Events composer block that extracts events and places them in the body of a newsletter.
  • Configuration popup that opens when the block is dropped into the email. Available options may vary, and you can reopen it at any time.
  • Automated channel support: channels created in Automated through the composer can use a template that contains an events block.
  • Self-updating content: each time an automated newsletter is generated, the block refreshes and lists the latest future events.
  • Generation control: like the standard Posts block, the events block can suspend newsletter generation when there are no new events to announce.
  • Zero setup: no configuration panel, so there is nothing to map or save.

What does it work with?

The add-on extends the Newsletter plugin and reads event data from EventPrime. Both need to be installed on the same WordPress site. The block lives in Newsletter’s composer, so if you already build emails there, the workflow will feel familiar.

Because the plugin is released under the GPL license, you are free to inspect the code and adapt it to your own site’s needs, which is handy if your events presentation requires something specific.

One note on older setups: the previous Automated channels based on themes, and the theme that generated newsletters from events custom post types, are deprecated. New automated newsletters should be built through the composer with the events block.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my automated newsletter send when there are no new events?

Not necessarily. The events block can control generation in the same way the standard Posts block does. If there is nothing new to communicate, it can suspend the newsletter instead of sending an empty message.

Do I need to update the event list manually before each send?

No. In an automated channel whose template includes the events block, the block is refreshed every time the newsletter is generated, and it lists the latest future events at that moment.

Can I still use my old theme-based automated channels?

Those channels, along with the theme that built newsletters from events custom post types, are deprecated. Newsletter – Eventprime Integration is designed around the composer block, so rebuilding such channels with a composer template and an events block is the way forward.
