Description

What This Add-On Does

Gravity Forms Giveaway Add-On turns any Gravity Forms form into a drawing pool you can manage from WP Admin. No exporting entries to a spreadsheet, no manual dice-rolling, no third-party random-number tool. You enable giveaway mode on a form, tell it which fields entries must fill in to qualify, and set how many winners each draw should produce. When it’s time to pick winners, the add-on pulls from eligible entries — those that haven’t already been drawn — and selects at random, right there in the admin screen.

It’s built for site owners who already collect entries through Gravity Forms and need a defensible, repeatable way to draw winners: raffles at events, giveaways tied to a form submission, internal drawings for staff or members. The logic lives entirely on the backend. There’s no public contest page and no automated winner emails — this is a tool for the person running the drawing, not a front-end sweepstakes engine.

Key Features

  • Per-form giveaway settings: qualifying fields, display name fields, and winner count
  • Optional date range filter to narrow the entry pool before drawing
  • Random selection limited to eligible, not-yet-drawn entries
  • Winner confirmation workflow for in-person or live events — mark each winner as present or no-show
  • Draw history per form, with timestamps and confirmation status
  • Drawn entries are permanently excluded from future draws on the same form

Because it’s released under the GPL, you’re free to inspect the code, adapt it to your own workflow, or hand it to a developer for customization — the same freedom you get with Gravity Forms itself and most of the WordPress plugin ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Gravity Forms 2.7 or newer
  • WordPress 6.5 or newer
  • PHP 7.4 or newer
  • A WordPress user with View Entries capability to run drawings, and Edit Forms capability to configure giveaway settings per form

Note this is an early release (version 0.1.0-alpha.1). Current limitations include no CSV or PDF export of draw history — records are viewable in admin only for now — no multisite/network admin support, and no built-in email notifications to winners.

FAQ

Can the same entry win more than once?

No. Once an entry is drawn, the add-on permanently excludes it from all future draws on that form, regardless of whether you later mark that winner as confirmed or no-show. This prevents duplicate wins even across multiple drawing sessions on the same form.

Does removing the plugin erase past draw records?

No. Draw history is stored in its own database table, separate from Gravity Forms entry data. Deactivating the add-on doesn’t touch that table, so your winner records and timestamps remain intact if you reactivate later.
